First-person shooters (also known as FPS) are a subgenre of action video games, focused on player's speed, reaction time, and precision. The genre’s core element is avatar holding a long-range weapon and a common resource found in most FPS games is ammunition. The typical goal of FPS games is shooting opponents in order to proceed through the missions. The player’s character must avoid being killed in the process.
